🎼 Repertoire Advice & Music Spotlights

Tips for WWWStar Contestants

To help you prepare for your best possible performance, here are some useful tips for recording your competition video:

1. Dress for the stage – even if it's virtual
Choose an outfit that reflects the professionalism and seriousness of your performance. While you don't need to wear formal concert attire, we recommend clean, neat, and performance-appropriate clothing that enhances your stage presence.

2. Make sure your hands are visible (for instrumental performances)
For instrumentalists, it's essential that your hands and the instrument are clearly visible throughout the video. Position the camera in a way that shows your technique and interaction with the instrument.

3. Choose your repertoire freely – but wisely
There are no restrictions on repertoire, but we encourage you to select pieces that showcase your strengths. A varied program covering different musical periods (e.g., Baroque, Classical, Romantic, Contemporary) demonstrates versatility and depth.

4. Let your personality shine
Beyond technical skill, we value expressiveness, charisma, and musicality. Your interpretation, stage presence, and emotional connection with the music all contribute to a memorable performance.

5. Sound and video quality matter
Use the best equipment available to you. Good lighting and clear sound help the jury and the audience focus on your performance without distractions.
